Hootsuite Honored Within BC’s Top Employers of 2023 Designation

Hootsuite recognized for robust and inclusive benefits package offered to employees in British Columbia and globally

VANCOUVER, BC — February 14, 2023 Hootsuite is pleased to announce it has been honored as part of  British Columbia’s Top Employers of 2023, presented by Mediacorp Canada Inc. Now in its 18th year, this special designation recognizes British Columbia employers that lead within their industries through offering exceptional places to work.

“We’re honored to be recognized as a leader within BC’s Top Employers of 2023,” said Tara Ataya, Chief People & Diversity Officer, Hootsuite. “It is humbling to be recognized among other organizations that are fostering environments where employees can realize their fullest potential, while safely bringing their authentic selves to work, every single day.”

Hootsuite was included in the list due to its robust and inclusive benefits package, with specific recognition of its mental health benefits, progressive paid time off policies, and family-friendly benefits offered to adopting, surrogate, birthing and non-birthing parents.

"This year's winners are exploring ways of recognizing employees that go beyond compensation in meaningful ways," said Kristina Leung, Managing Editor, BC Top Employers Project.

The annual competition was open to any private or public sector employer—regardless of company size—with a head office in British Columbia. Employers throughout British Columbia were evaluated by the editors at Canada's Top 100 Employers using the following criteria to determine which offer the most progressive and forward-thinking programs:

  • Workplace

  • Work Atmosphere & Social

  • Health, Financial & Family Benefits

  • Vacation & Time Off

  • Employee Communications

  • Performance Management

  • Training & Skills Development

  • Community Involvement

“Without the daily interaction that comes from being around your colleagues in person, employees can feel isolated from the community that organically forms in a workplace," said Richard Yerema, Executive Editor, Canada's Top 100 Employers Project. "Winning employers foster that connection by ensuring their employees are seen and heard, particularly when it comes to thanking their people for hard work or a job well done."
